Mobile bouldering wall hire: how our trailer-mounted wall works

What arrives on site

Everything travels on one trailer, towed by our own vehicle. There is nothing for you to supply beyond a flat pitch and vehicle access to it.

• 8m × 2m trailer holding the bouldering panels and holds
• Soft crash matting for the full base of the wall
• Queue barriers, marked hand and foot no-go lines and signage
• In-house trained instructors, first aid kit and documentation

Space and access

We need a 10m × 6m operational footprint of flat, stable ground. That's the trailer plus matting, the climbing side, the queue line and a safe spectator margin. Grass, tarmac and indoor sports halls all work.

The trailer needs to be towed into position, so please keep a clear route from the gate to the pitch — soft ground after heavy rain is the one thing that catches people out.

How a session runs

Climbers are briefed in small groups, then traverse the wall one participant per panel with an instructor spotting. Because it is low-level bouldering there is no clipping in, no ropes and no queue for harness fitting, so the flow is fast.

We run 45 minutes of every hour, with a 15-minute break to reset holds, check matting and rotate staff. In practice that handles roughly 30 climbers an hour.

Risk assessments and method statements for the bouldering wall are published on our RAMS page and can be sent to your venue or local authority before the event. We carry public liability insurance, and equipment is inspected before every hire.

Common questions

How high do climbers go?

Feet stay below a clearly marked one-metre line. It is a sideways traverse activity, not an upward climb, and there is no topping out.

Can you run indoors?

Yes, provided there is level access for the trailer and enough clear floor for the 10m × 6m footprint.
