What's inside

  • Operating parameters: approx. 30 m crawl route, minimum age 5 and height 1.1 m, 8–10 participants in the system at a time, two supervisors, no lone operation
  • Hazards scored on a 5×5 Likelihood × Severity matrix with initial and residual ratings after controls
  • Participant health, suitability, clothing and pre-entry controls, including claustrophobia and medical screening
  • Full method statement covering pre-event planning, arrival, setup, briefing, operation, shutdown and de-rig
  • Emergency arrangements, weather suspension limits, first aid, competence, records and site-specific dynamic assessment

All documents are written in line with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998 and current HSE guidance. Reviewed at least annually and after any incident, near-miss or change in equipment or legislation.
